          All about Sarah...

I've always had a passion for art, music, and nature.  Growing up, I would split my time between playing piano, sketching, and climbing trees.  Today, I teach piano full time at a middle school and create art at home (no more tree climbing, but I have A LOT of plants...)  I love what I create, and since it is not my "day job" it is a true outlet for me, with no expectations warranted!

I have a B.A. in Visual Art & Piano from Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama and a Master of Liberal Arts from Auburn University in Montgomery.  While pursuing my Masters, I fell in love with watercolor. I love that the medium is hard to control and sometimes has a mind of its own. I think the mistakes are often the most exciting part!

I discovered alcohol inks in 2018. I thoroughly enjoy the experimental journey with the vivid colors that the ink provides. The non-objective subject in my alcohol inks creates a link to music for me and I enjoy that the viewer can experience their own visual journey.

For my "day job", I'm a full-time piano teacher at a magnet middle school. My love of the piano naturally inspired my PianoKeys series!
